if you've been to my blog before you may know that i'm teaching myself crochet,it's fun at times and annoying at others!!!
i've follwed my 1st pattern (yay!) it's a curly scarve :) i love how it just curled on it's own. not sure about the colour,at the moment i'm buying wool from charity shops because i don't want to shell out on nice expensive wool and muck it up!!!

my time to craft challenge

my time to craft
This week's theme is 'Doodling'. Try adding some freehand drawing to your projects. Maybe something really simple or if you're feeling really brave perhaps try drawing your own image instead of using a rubber stamp! Get your felt tips at the ready and have loads of fun doodling!

i've drawn these bird houses,1st time i've done this and i'm pleased with them!!! a bit of the ink from the edge smudged onto the picture so i hide it behind some tiny flowers!!

money box

my boy asked me to make him a money box that he couldn't get into!!! i used a washed out bean tin,put a disc on the top and covered it in parcel tape. i used free papers from a magerzine to decorate it. the only ways in are by ripping the paper off or using a tin opener on the bottom. he reackons he's going to fill it before opening it!!!!

dcm challenge

the latest dcm challenge went up on friday.......
It's Keryn here and it's my turn to set the dare this week.

I'm just loving all the new scallop punches that are out at the moment, circles, ovals, squares, edges etc, etc and then there's the corner rounder and slit punches that can be used to scallop edges as well.

Use your imagination, your scallop punches, your corner rounders, your cricuts and cuttlebugs to create any card to fit any style as long as it shows scallops.

here's mine :)
i cut the trees the way that kathy showed us on the bubbly funk cyber crop in september! the aper i used has a flocked pattern on it. the scallop is a chipboard stripe from woodware. And yes,i did use a peel off!!!!

UKS Stash Bash!!!

over on uks they are having a summer stash bash,in which you are given a challenge each day (for the month of august,i think!) and you are to use as much stash as you can before buying more!!! sounded good to me so i've done some...........
mondays challenge was a mini book, haven't started that one yet!!
tuesday is 'technique tuesday...........Technique Tuesday is all about trying out techniques ~ each Tuesday we'll give you sketch for inspiration along with a suggested technique. And todays technique to play with is 'Stamping'. You can stamp embelishments and backgrounds, with inks, paints and more, so this is a very versatile technique to play with.
this is what i've done :)

wednesday is workout wednesday...........Time to put those crafting brains and fingers through their paces with Workout Wednesday!

Each Workout Wednesday, we'll have not one but at least TWO sketches to inspire you,
and the challenge is to use both.... AND include the days technique on both,

this is mine (well one of them!!)

i've tried something a bit different for me,a collage card!

not really sure i like it!!!

Tuesday 29 July 2008

think pink........

My challenge this week is to use the colours Pink and Black to create cards for any ocassion. So the middle of the card would be kept blank for the person to write their own message, whatever it may be. The cards can be other colours as well, but should contain some pink and some black....this challenge was set by caroline on bubbly funk.........this is my card

Golden oldies......

it's time for a dcm challenge, haven't done one for a while!!

NOW ! - on to this weeks dare - we have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

this is mine,i've done spirella,i used to do this just as much as teabag folding!!!

Friday 11 July 2008

been busy.............

i've been really busy these past few days so i've a few things to show off!!!
1st off is a scrapbook that i made for my mil's birthday,it's of my dd's prom that happened last month,i've kept it simple because thats my mil's style in crafty things!!

dragonfly and butterfly cards

i was just playing with my stamps one afternoon and this is what i did!!! i sent the yellow one to a friend on bubbly funk

leaving card

i do some volunteering at barnardo's and the manager is leaving to go to work with our council in the housing department,so i made her a card with houses on it!!!
the stamp is by magenta and i stamped it a few times to create a row,i 3d one of them and coloured it with a glitter gel pen.

crochet blanket

i've been teaching myself how to crochet with the help of books from the library and you tube!! in the past i've tried different stiches and just pulled it all out when i've had a go,so i thought it was about time that i tried to make something.......granted it's only a blanket, but it's for a new niece whos getting christened next week (thank goodness i managed to finish it!) so i learned a new stitch and found a video on you tube on how to make a little heart,i then tried to make a bigger one but it didn't work with the stitch in the video so i had to work that bit out!! i'm really pleased with the end result and i hope my uncle and antie will be too :)
