No quote, but this time I'd like you to use book pages or any type of print - it could be a mag or newspaper page, text stamp or text paper. Then I'd like you to do flowers on the page. You could doodle, stamp, cut pictures of flowers. You can use the text as the base of the page or for the flowers.'

my text is my written text and i know dandelions aren't what you would think of when you think of flowers,but if they were hard to grow then the quote would make them so!!! iyswim LOL

while looking at suzie's blog i was inspired by her 'take flight' page......this is mine...not liking the lettering though-couldn't get any of my pens to write clearly where i'd put glue!!



kaz has given us another prompt to use over on bubbly funk 'i used to have an open mind but then my brain fell out'!!

over on bubbly funk kaz has set us a fun challenge for art journalling.
we were to use this quote 'life is short so smile while you still have teeth' good quote i thought and thought to myself 'i can do this!' well while i was trying to think of something to do everyone else was coming up with such great ideas and i was in danger of getting left behind! i just couldn't get my own ideas coming and was very tempted just to copy!!
kaz suggested googling,so thats what i did....... 1st i thought of a skull with a pasted smile on it-life being short and ending up with a skull!,and smiling-but i thought that was a bit morbid LOL,then i printed a smile and coloured it bright red with inktense pencils and while doing this i was thinking 'that looks like the jokers mouth!'....so i searched for a picture of him and went from there......not sure if the page is worth all the worry about but it's done now hehe.

tando spooky challenge

i've made this card for the tando challenge for october. i've used my cricut to cut it all-which was pretty hard going because i've not used it for yonks so had to work it out again!! LOL
i'm not sure if i was meant to use tando products in the challenge-i haven't-so if i've done it wrong di-sorry!



now i need to see if i can work out the linky thing-never done that before!!!

i'm not a knitter,but........

....when i went to a wool shop with mum and saw this wool i just had to have it LOL.
you may have heard me say 'i can knit a scarve if mum casts on and off!' well here's the prove :)
it's by no means prefect,but i'm happy with it:)
i've got a new different wool at the moment-mum's cast on for me........don't hold your breathe though because it may not be finished this side of christmas LOL

i went for a jounal page........



i painted onto the page and then while the paints were still wet,and with a wet paint brush i merdged the colours together....while still wet i drew 'clouds' with the end of the brush....when dry i used a posca pen and drew next to the lines and put some little swirly type thingys in them!!

sounds like i did alot but not alot to show LOL

it's my eldest's birthday today and my 2nd's on the 19th so yesterday i got busy making their cards-it was quite nice making cards at just gone 7.30 in the morning :)

Thought i'd show you what i've been up to in my journal :)
you'll notice that i used alot of karen's and kaz's paints because i didn't take mine with me because i was on 3 trains with a case and last year i too so much stuff i could hardly carry the darn thing LOL........so thank you very much girls for the use of your paints and sprays :)

and finally (you'll be pleased to know!!) i did a whole page all on my at home.....it's a toad-although he looks more like a frog!!! it says' 'i'm a toadie' because thats what the bubblies who didn't go called the bubblies who did go!!! and the rest of the writing is phrases that were repeated over the weekend :)

Bubbly Retreat.

Last weekend a few of us from bubbly funk went away for a crafty weekend-which was fab. It was lovely to see everyone again.It didn't take us long to get settled in and it was like it hadn't been a year since we last each other:)
I managed to get a few bits done over the weekend,all of which i'm plaesed with:)

Kaz and Karen gave us some ideas and tips on doing journal pages-think i might carry on with this-it is rather addictive!
I also raded Di's chipboard bag and used some of her croco paints to make a wall hanging-it just needs something to hang it with!
I finished a beading class that Paddy showed us last year-i managed to work the basic stitching out but needed Paddy to show me how to make it into a point.
and Leigh showed us how to do decopatch-that's the 'LOVE' letter's!
I also did a few beading projects:)

Mum's 60th card.

Yesterday it was my mum's 60th birthday,we're not seeing her till sunday-which is a good job because i've only just made her card this morning!!!
I've decided not to put her age on it because i'm pretty sure all her other cards will have it on!!

Little necklace.

I've made this little necklace for a cousin who's 3 (sounds odd saying i have a cousin who's 3 when i'm 40!!)I was thinking of a string of beads but since she's young i didn't think that was a good idea if it broke!! her mum asked for a necklace,which again given her age i thought was odd,but there you go!!!
i decided to go with chain and a few beads-these are on wire so they shouldn't break.(fingers crossed!)mum's taking it down to Plymouth on Monday!

Hazel's christmas card challenge.

Craftynuthazel has started a new challenge blog-she's challenging us with a new challenge each week to make some christmas cards,and since it started on the 1st january there have been 4 challenges-i've done 2!! (at least thats 2 cards ready for christmas:))
week 1-anything goes.....i've used angelina fibres,sequins and seed beads stitched on by hand:)





week 3-lets see some trees.....same stuff used!!! oh and a bit of paper cord:)

day 4-paint a face with zebra accents. bit weird this one-she looks like she's in shock hehe....perhaps she doesn't like the fact that i used a permanent marker on the next page and it came through!! (i stopped using the pen!)

I'm doing well-i've just finished my day 3 and i haven't missed a day yet LOL
Day 3 had us making a print block-i made mine from mount board and i used watered down acrylic paints to print with. I tried 'neat' paints but they were so sticky it was leaving a layer of mount board on my page!!
